La Japan Society for the Promotion of Science a distingué 25 lauréates et lauréats en 2022 dont Benoît Collins pour un projet intitulé Free Probability and its Application to Random Matrices. En détachement du CNRS, Benoît Collins est professeur à l'université de Kyoto.
