News from the CIMPA
The Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA) develops three main programs within the geographic areas of its activities: Africa, Central and South America, Asia. They are the CIMPA Research Schools, the Support for Training in Research program and the Short-Term Thematic funding program.
- 21 CIMPA Research Schools will be held in 2019. Check the list here and click on "list" for details and registration.
- The Support for Training in Research (STR) program consists in funding the organisation of a series of research-level courses in mathematics within its geographic areas of activities.
The CIMPA funds 9 STR programs for the period from October 2018 to February 2019. Check out the list here.
- Through the CIMPA-CARMIN program the organizers wish to fund, with the support of the Labex CARMIN and the CIMPA, the participation of several young mathematicians from developing countries to the activities of the trimester.
3 laureates of the CIMPA-Carmin program will attend the current IHP Trimester "Analytics, Inference, and Computation in Cosmology": Nirban Bose (Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India), Nassima Khaldi (Université des sciences et de la Technologie d'Oran, Mohamed Boudiaf, Algeria) et Shabbir Shaikh (Savitribai Phule Pune University, India).
- The call for proposals 2019 for African Mathematical Schools (EMA), supported and encouraged by the CIMPA and the African Mathematical Union (AMU) is open. EMA should aim at teaching relevant and new topics to master students in priority. Deadline on October 1st.
