Centre Mersenne for open scientific publishing presents Annales mathématiques Blaise Pascal

Lab life

A public publishing infrastructure at the service of the community, implemented by the Mathdoc cell1 , Centre Mersenne offers access to 21 journals, 14 of which in mathematics (see member journals), that you can read free of charge and in which, again free of charge, you can publish your best papers. Ever considered publishing in French journals?

Publish in France gives you all the keys.

The Annales Mathématiques Blaise Pascal (AMBP) is a research journal in mathematics publishing articles presenting significant advances in all fields of mathematics. AMBP is published by the Laboratoire de Mathématiques Blaise Pascal1 with the support of the CNRS and the Université Clermont Auvergne.

History

AMBP was created in 1994, succeeding the former series "Mathematics" and "Probability and Applications" of the Annales Scientifiques de l'Université de Clermont, which had existed since 1962 and published original articles, proceedings of colloquia (including the presentations of the first editions of the Saint-Flour School of Probability) or notes of seminar presentations.

The journal, whose successive directors have been Yves Sureau (1994-1996), François Dumas (1996-2003) and Michael Heusener (2003-2013), has been led since 2013 by an executive editorial board of four mathematicians from Clermont-Ferrand (Julien Bichon, Arnaud Guillin, Arnaud Münch, Emmanuel Royer). The international editorial committee is composed of twenty people, covering most of the mathematical spectrum.

Editorial policy

  •     Articles are evaluated by one or more reviewers, chosen for their scientific expertise and without any conflict of interest.
  •     Originality and scientific quality are the main criteria.
  •     Long articles are welcome, without limitation of size.
  •     The content of the articles is protected by the CC BY 4.0 license.
  •     AMBPs adhere to the COPE code of good practice.

Scientific production

AMBP publishes each year a volume consisting of two issues, between 10 and 20 articles for between 250 and 500 pages. Occasionally, a special issue may be published, dedicated to an exceptional event (conference, thematic school, etc.). The journal has very little backlog: articles are generally published within 6 months after their acceptance.

Open access diamond

The choice of total open access, for authors and readers, was made by AMBP in 2005 when the journal was converted to electronic format within the framework of CEDRAM (the predecessor of the Mersenne Center).

Funding

The CNRS provides an annual grant to AMBP. It also intervenes indirectly by financing the Mersenne Center, which hosts since 2019 the website of the journal, ensures the standardization of the articles, as well as the dissemination, the attribution of DOI identifiers or the perennial archiving via CLOCKSS.

The University of Clermont Auvergne also participates in the financing of the paper versions of the issues, which are now mainly used in numerous exchanges with other academic journals.

Perspectives

The AMBP journal publishes, in open access, discoveries in all fields of mathematics, from the most theoretical to the most applied. The last few years have seen an increase in the quality of the articles published by AMBP, materialized for example by a significant increase of its Mathematical Citation Quotient (MCQ) of Mathscinet, now situated above the average of mathematics journals.

At a time when more and more authors are becoming aware of the need for new models for scientific publishing, favoring virtuous practices, AMBP wishes to play a major role and to be a key player in the sector, publishing, with the help of a high-level editorial board, articles of high quality.
